JOHN TILTON WORKSHOP - 2008

John Tilton will be conducting a Crystalline Glaze workshop in Florida - February 16-17, 2008.

The Dunedin Fine Art Center houses a couple of small gas kilns, an L&L electric, and plenty of room to work. There was also mention of using other kilns in order to cover more information.
John describes the itinerary to include: “working with post-fired reduction effects in the gas kilns, using encapsulated stains in slips under a glaze, and trying to get a nice matte glaze in oxidation…”. John will also be covering basic crystalline information and trying to answer any specific problems you might have.

John’s last workshop at Dunedin went very well, and the climate in Florida is usually nice, even this time of year… Terry Fallon will be bringing an electric kiln that he’s proven to be very capable of achieving accurate automated high fire reduction results.
Phil Hamling is heading down to take advantage of an outstanding learning experience, and offer him and his family a nice break from this year’s winter weather!

You can register for the class at the Dunedin Art Center website.
You can also contact John through the Tilton Pottery website, if you have any further questions.

For those already attending, or to get an even better feel for what’s going to happen, Check out the Workshop Preparation write up.
